David Sylvian – Words With The Shaman (1985) full 12″ EP

After collaborating with the likes of Holger Czukay, Jon Hassell, and Ryuichi Sakamoto to make his first solo album, 1984’s ‘Brilliant Trees’, Sylvian decided to do the same for his 2nd album. His first single (EP?) from that album was his collaboration with Hassell, who composed these tracks alongside Sylvian and Steve Jansen. This is a continuation, and expansion, of the sound of the tracks on Side B of ‘Brilliant Trees’. Dragging 80’s Pop into the fourth world ambience that the likes of Hassell and Eno were fully inhabiting.
