Frank Zappa – Why Does It Hurt When I Pee?

Well……why?

Find out tonight on THE SENTINEL!

Frank Zappa – Willie The Pimp

54 years ago Frank Zappa’s ‘Hot Rats’ album was released, and was certainly a pretty big “hit” over here in the UK. This scuzzy Blues number featured Frank’s childhood friend and musical legend in his own right Don Van Vliet a.k.a Captain Beefheart on vocals. With Don’t trademark bellow and Frank delivering one of the most fluid and hypnotic guitar solos ever created, the entertainment value is extremely high. Dive in everybody!

Frank Zappa – Society Pages

Sneering at small town gossip and nepotism; this track from Frank’s stellar 1981 album ‘You Are What You Is’ has a joyous bounce to it; added by the ever-exuberant vocals of Ike Willis.

The Mothers of Invention – Closing Medley (live from their ‘Ahead of Their Time’ show at London’s Royal Festival Hall 25/10/1968)

Classic Mothers with the original line up, though the arrangements of these certainly hinted at future-Zappa.

1.) Let’s Make The Water Turn Black 00:00

2.) Harry You’re A Beast 01:51

3.) The Orange County Lumber Truck 1 02:45

4.) Oh No 03:32

5.) The Orange County Lumber Truck 2 06:54

Frank Zappa – Carolina Hardcore Ecstasy

BDSM themes encased in Zappa-Rock; from his 1975 album ‘Bongo Fury’. The album was notable for featuring Frank’s childhood friend and legend in his own right, Don Van Vliet a.k.a Captain Beefheart; though the Cap’n doesn’t feature on this number. Get your Roger Daltrey capes on and rock on!

The Mothers Of Invention – Trouble Every Day

Classic R&B from the Mothers first album, 1966’s ‘Freak Out’. Like their album ‘We’re Only In It For The Money’ that we posted a few days ago, this song is as relevant now as it was when it was released.
