Orbital – Impact (The Earth Is Burning)

By 1993, ‘Ardcore was old news and had given way to the runaway genre of Jungle; however, this didn’t stop Orbital toying with what was already considered ‘old skool’ on this track from their ‘Brown Album’. The fact that they included Acid licks and atonal horn samples (wish we could find out where they are from) along with the breaks and descending riff just adds to the brilliance of a track that, at the time at least, felt familiar and new all at once
