Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds – Jesus Alone

Opening track from Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds new album ‘Skeleton Tree’; an album receiving a lot of press; especially due to the fact that it’s the first album since Nick Cave’s son, 15 year old Arthur, feel from a cliff and died. Apparently all but one of the songs on the album were written before the tragedy, although you would be hard pressed to know which one. However, the whole thing was recorded after the life changing event, and grief saturates the entire affair. This track is droney, expansive yet claustrophobic; and really hits home.
