The Stranglers – Do You Wanna/Death And Night And Blood (Yukio)

Two for the price of one here as these tracks work so well side by side on the album (Black And White, 1978) that it’s a sin to separate them. In fact, the moment when the second song kicks in from the first (there isn’t a transition) is a blinder.
An underrated band from the New Wave (read also as Post-Punk) era, despite their later mainstream success; or maybe it’s precisely because of those hits in their senior years that they don’t get the credit they deserve.
The whole of ‘Black And White’ is pure class.
