Foetus – Kamikaze

Jimmy Foetus does a Beatles pastiche on a track that should have been on 2010’s ‘HIDE’. Unfortunately, it just ended up on the patchy mop-up album ‘SOAK’. This track would have fitted on the majority of ‘HIDE’ (which is kinda consistent once you ignore the mammoth Magma-like opener), and it’s infectious harmonies that build and build would have complimented the rest of the tracks on that album, such as ‘Paper Slippers’, ‘Stood Up’, and ‘The Ballad Of Sisyphus T. jones’. The Beatles connection isn’t a surprise to anyone who saw Foetus on the insanely loud 1996 tour; where a crushing version of ‘I Am The Walrus’ was a regular occurrence.
