Coil – Love’s Secret Domain

Title track from their 1991 album, and the excesses of clubbing was influencing the bands own music. They did sparse Techno with tracks such as ‘The Snow’, and elements of dance music permeated much of the remaining album. On this track you get the feeling that this is what the Madchester scene could have sounded like if it was spearheaded by gay psychedelic warriors with a real love for William Blake. Blake’s ‘The Sick Rose’ get’s quoted in the song, as does Roy Orbison’s ‘In Dreams’. Great piece of groovy mania from the boys here.
