Nurse With Wound – Close To You

By the time of 2009’s ‘The Surveillance Lounge’, there were some worries that NWW had slightly gone off the boil. ‘Huffin’ Rag Blues’ had some good moments on it; but for a sampledelic lounge affair, it lagged behind greats from Tom Recchion, Tipsy, and Stock, Hausen & Walkman; all who did their exemplary entries to the great exoitca experiment back in 2006. Still, no need to go over an artists lapses when they continue to create stunning music, and ‘The Surveillance Lounge’ (along with sister release ‘The Memory Surface’) showed an outfit back in form. This track, like the rest of the album, is non-linear noise music; noise music that doesn’t need to rage, but can creep around in the dark whispering at you. Loving the sample of ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You’ that makes an appearance.
