Graham Dunning – Monogon

The Sentinel’s very own Mr. Dunning with a track from his forthcoming album ‘Auxon’. This track, like the whole upcoming album, is gonna be entirely made up of Dunning’s ‘Mechanical Techno’; a method using turntables, contact mic’s, automated cowbells, etc to create the kind of minimal Techno that Jeff Mills and Robert Hood gave us; except instead of Hood’s shiny futurism, Dunning gives us a creaky, dusty take on Detroit’s abstract dance. For a glimpse into how this is made, go and check his ‘Mechanical techno Demonstration’ video here on The Sentinel. By the way, the video was also made by Graham, and he says “Video footage is made as a live mix from automated machines, mirroring the mechanical techno process”. ‘Auxon’ will be out in Spring 2016 on Seagrave records.
