Faust – Party 4 (Lieber Herr Deutschland)

One from the Wumme cutting room floor, which was yet more proof of how incredible Faust were during their original incarnation. This first came out as ‘Party 4’ on Recommended Records in the 80’s; on ‘The Last LP’ album. It then resurfaced on the same labels ’71 Minutes Of’ CD as ‘Lieber Herr Deutschland’ in the 90’s. Classic Faust that starts out all rolling drums and chaos, before chugging Krautrock with Zappi’s wayward motorik drumming kicks in. The track then transforms into very, very spacious psychedelia. Faust = righteousness.
