Joy Division – Dead Souls

Perfect New Wave from Manchester’s Joy Division; a track where the vocals don’t kick in until after the 2 minute mark. The title is taken from the story of the same name by the Russian writer Nikolai Gogol. This song also wins points for the use of the word “conquistadors”, natch. This was recorded in 1979, and released on the 1981 compilation album ‘Still’.
