Foetus – Don’t Want Me Anymore

Jim’s 2005 album ‘LOVE’ was him expanding his Foetus project; moving it away from the hard, vicious edge of yore (there is still real menace though, like on ‘How To Vibrate’), and into spacier, lush, orchestral jazz realms realms. Although, we have to remember we’re dealing with Mr. Thirlwell here, and this softer approach can be deceptive; with tracks creeping into dark alleyways and threatening you with eerie menace. This track for instance, is like a diseased Jimi Tenor circa ‘Out Of Nowhere’, and cuts through the psyche and goes beyond a tale of lost love that pulls on the heartstrings.
